What teachers are saying

Growing minds through STEM

Genesis School-gen and Nanogirl Labs are working together to empower Kiwi kids with Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths (STEM) learning opportunities, helping them to prepare for jobs of the future.

Our first project together is STEMSTARS, an excisitng new resource that brings STEM learning to life for tamariki in years 3 and 4, through storytelling, hands-on experiments and group activities.

How does STEMSTARS work?

As a teacher, you'll lead your students on an exciting journey to learn about sound, flotation, electricity, wind, smell, flight navigation and rockets. For teachers with limited STEM teaching experience, we've made it easy with printed booklets and online instructional videos. You'll have everything you need to deliver this programme with confidence. The programme integrates both both te reo Māori and te ao Māori concepts.

Schools can find out more about STEMSTARS on the STEMSTARS website, including how our ‘Buy One, Give One’ programme enables schools who need extra support to access this incredible resource.
