Win with Emirates Team New Zealand wind resources!
Genesis is the official energy partner of Emirates Team New Zealand and we have been working together to create new teaching resources about wind power. We now have two new resources available for use, in both English and te reo Māori.
Be in to win
We’re also running a competition on the School-gen Facebook page giving away three prize packs, containing an Emirates Team New Zealand hat and T shirt signed by Grant Dalton, as well as some School-gen merchandise. To win, comment on our Facebook post with a photo of your class using the new resources. Entries close Friday 27 September. Enter here.
The two new resources are for Levels 3 & 4. They are:
Harnessing the power of wind
Use this resource to investigate how we can harness the power of the wind. Learners can design a sailboat model that can use wind power to move. Click here for both the English and te reo Māori version.
Measuring wind power
This maths resource, building on the previous Harnessing the power of the wind resource, allows learners to investigate how the energy of wind can drive the America’s Cup boats and affect their speed. They can learn by measuring the distances involved in the America’s Cup course. Click here for both the English and te reo Māori version.
