Temuka Primary School - Temuka - 4 kw

Temuka Primary is a Yr1 -6 contributing school located 26 kms north east of Timaru. We are semi-rural and have a student population of approx. 250 students. Temuka is a Fonterra town and a large number of our families are employed at the local plant, which is located 11kms away at Clandeboye.

We are thrilled to enter this exciting Genesis Energy programme which has also been made possible thanks to the assistance of Geraldine and Temuka Rotary Club.

As a WAVE School (Wellness and Vitality Education) we are committed to the environmental principles embellished within this programme. Currently we are working towards developing edible gardens to focus students on the meaning of environmental sustainability. Moving to the School Gen programme is seen as a natural progression towards this united goal. We look forward to the exciting journey for us here at Temuka Primary and developing our own unique strategies for sustainable energy solutions for both our school and the wider school community. We want our students to continue to share their learning and passion for our environment with others.
