Te Aro Primary School - Wellington City - 4 kw
Te Aro School is a vibrant, inclusive, multicultural full primary school, located in Central Wellington, with approximately 240 children from over 38 countries.
Our school is committed and passionate about caring for our environment and being sustainable. Across our school, we have environmental learning integrated into our curriculum and learning experiences. We have developed and are sustaining a variety of environmental projects: vegetable gardens, a skink garden, school composting and worm farms, a recycled greenhouse, recycled seating, and two beehives where we have just completed our first honey harvest of the school year (26 kgs of delicious honey!).
We conduct inquiry-based learning at Te Aro School where children’s learning is relevant and purposeful to their lives. As a Schoolgen school we enjoy learning about solar energy, gaining experience and understanding of collecting data and making energy savings.
