Taupo-nui-a-Tia College has a commitment to education for sustainability through a number of initiatives within the school and community. 

The college sees the Schoolgen project as an extension of the learning opportunities offered to our students. Through the study of solar energy and power generation the students are exposed to real time data that is authentic and relevant to them. The panels are a visual reminder of the need for all individuals to make a difference for the environment.
