Stanley Bay School - North Shore - 4 kw

Stanley Bay School is a co-educational, urban, state primary school located on Auckland's Devonport Peninsular.  The school, which is over one hundred years old, has a current roll of 240 students, of which the majority is New Zealand European.

Stanley Bay School was originally buddied up with Bayswater Primary School, an existing Schoolgen member.  The whole school got on board with learning about environmentally sustainable practices.  The school participated in the ‘Mean Green House’ competition, with every child in the school involved.  We were very proud of one group of girls who gained first equal.

Due to our enthusiasm in embracing the aims of the programme, we have been upgraded to become a full Schoolgen school.  We were lucky to receive a special Genesis ‘energy boost’ when a 4 kilowatt array, comprising a total of 16 photovoltaic panels, was installed in January 2014.
