Silverdale Primary School - Albany - 2 kw
Silverdale School is proud to have entered into a partnership with Genesis Energy and the Schoolgen Project as part of our development as a recognized enviro school. Our commitment to sustainability with the installation of solar cells, which will not only save the school energy costs and reduce greenhouse gas emissions, provides an educational opportunity regarding renewable energy, energy efficiency, electricity generation and climate change to the students and community of Silverdale School.
Along with this initiative our students are engaged with recycling, composting and worm bins, zero waste, grey water recycling, reforestation of native bush and reducing our carbon footprint. We are also a part of the Promoting Healthy Schools and Active Schools initiatives. This means we are a water only school and our students are engaged in daily fitness activities.
These exciting developments mean our future citizens will be well aware of how to make appropriate choices about healthy living and sustaining our environment in the long term.
