Lake Tekapo School is located in the picturesque Mackenzie Region looking at the Southern Alps in South Canterbury. We are a vibrant and dynamic little school with a strong emphasis on family and community. We continuously strive to engage our students and ensure they are able to reach their full potential holistically. Our school has a commitment to the local environment; we include visits to the local lake, mountains and wild life as a regular part of our school programme.

We are thrilled to part of the Schoolgen Team and excited about the next steps, as we engage our learners and share and celebrate with our community. Lake Tekapo School can't wait to begin the Schoolgen journey with our new friends at Genesis Energy...

We're especially excited as Lake Tekapo School is the first Schoolgen School to have a battery back up system installed with our solar panels. This means that we not only have our own power supply, but can act as a special emergency centre for the community. Join us as we explore renewable and reusable energy; inviting questions from other schools and children from all across New Zealand and the world!
