Glendowie College - Orakei - 2 kw
Glendowie College is a co-educational state secondary school of 960 students in Auckland's Eastern Suburbs. One of the college's four learning pillars is ‘Preparing Students for Life through quality education’. “The Genesis Energy Schoolgen programme is a perfect opportunity to help prepare students for the future. They have the opportunity to witness and participate in the use of sustainable energy technologies. This will make them better informed citizens.”
The photovoltaic panels have been installed on the roof of the library reading room. Students will be able to use the Schoolgen website for research and as a way of building skills and knowledge on sustainability. This Schoolgen project fits neatly with other school environmental and recycling initiatives.
The inverter reported a total of 15,233 kWh of solar electricity generation when checked on the 14th of November 2013.
