Geraldine Primary School - Geraldine - 4 kw
Geraldine Primary School can be found in the heart of Geraldine, a rural town with a population of about 2000. Geraldine is situated 35 km north of Timaru and 135 km south of Christchurch, on the edge of the beautiful Canterbury Plains, in the South Island of New Zealand.
The school has a roll of between 300 and 350 Year 0-6 children, with about half of the children living in Geraldine, and the others living in the farming areas surrounding the town. Geraldine Primary is excited about beginning its Schoolgen journey, and about becoming one of the growing number of South Island schools to install solar panels with the help of Genesis Energy.
We would also like to thank the Temuka-Geraldine Rotary Club for making a generous contribution towards the installation of a 4 kilowatt array of photovoltaic solar panels on our school roof so that we can begin to generate our own renewable electricity from the sun.
