The Winners

We have had a simply amazing response to our School-gen Energising Young Minds competition and want to say a massive thank you to the schools, students, teachers, parents, friends and families who all got involved.

And of course a big shout out to the judges who have had a really tough job deciding who will get the $25k, $15k and $10k! The results are in so check out the winners below.

Tangimoana School

“So many unfortunate things have happened to the school and to the community – we’ve had various floods over the last 10 years. Receiving this grant will be such a huge moral boost, not just for the school but also for the village.”

“Access to these funds will give the students the opportunity to really explore the science around sustainability and energy – I can’t wait.”

~ Timu Niwa
Tangimoana School Principal

Aka Aka School

“Getting a sum like $15,000 to put directly to learning tools is incredible. That is a significant amount of our overall budget so it will achieve an enormous amount and will have a huge impact on what we can offer at the school.”

“A grant like this will have such a positive impact on our children and how they feel about themselves and their pride in the school – they will be buzzing.”

~ Michaelene Nu’u
Aka Aka School Principal

Waikino School

“From a teaching perspective, it is an opportunity to get some funding that is purely tagged to learning.”

“It’s not funding that will go into the running of the school – like operations and wages – it will go to enhancing the children’s learning which is so awesome.”

“The kids will be so excited.”

~ Joanna Wheway
Waikino School Principal
