Schoolgen Schools

On 2 November 2009 Genesis Energy, through their Schoolgen programme, installed 12 photovoltaic solar panels on the roof of Block 2 (Rooms 5,6,7 & 8). The panels will deliver up to 2kW of power, on a sunny day, to run computers, lights, etc. Schoolgen will return in term1 2010 for the launch of this project with a special assembly followed by professional development for teachers on a curriculum developed around the Science and Technology of the panels and beneficial environmental impacts. We look forward to new learning across the school as the children discover the 'power' of the sun and the technology developed to harness it.

We are extremely grateful that Genesis Energy chose us as one of nine schools in the Wanganui/Manawatu region, Wanganui Intermediate being the only other local school.
