Napier Intermediate School
Napier Intermediate is a school of approximately 350 students located in Napier in the beautiful Hakwes Bay. We are lucky to have been granted a 4 million dollar school up grade. We are keen to devise ways in our new school environment to further develop our environmental conscience. Students are at present developing an �Earth Warriors� team which will look at more efficient ways of recycling in our school environment and how we can make a difference in our community. We value our local environment and with the beautiful Marine Parade on our doorstep we feel very strongly about keeping our sea shore healthy for future generations.
A big part of our success in attaining our solar panels came from a keen group of students in 2008 who felt that we had more to do to improve the efficiency of our school. It is these focussed students and two teachers who started the ball rolling towards Napier Intermediate becoming a Schoolgen school. The keen students of the Earth Warriors will develop environmental strategies that will continue to lead Napier Intermediate on the sustainability pathway of the future.
Schoolgen is helping us by supporting our goal through providing us with solar panels which will allow students the opportunity to experience first hand sustainable and renewable energy technologies in action. We will monitor energy savings and use the Schoolgen website to support our learning.
