Te Aro Primary School - Wellington City - 4 kw
Te Aro School is a vibrant, inclusive, multicultural full primary school, located in Central Wellington, with approximately 220 children from over 38 countries.
Our school is committed and passionate about caring for our environment and being sustainable. Across our school, we have environmental learning integrated into our curriculum and learning experiences. We have developed and are sustaining a variety of environmental projects: Kai gardens, a skink garden, school composting and worm farms, a recycled greenhouse, recycled seating, and two beehives where we have just completed our first honey harvest of 16 kilograms !
We conduct inquiry-based learning at Te Aro School where children’s learning is relevant and purposeful to their lives. Involving our community is very important to our school, and we make connections so that our learning experiences are shared with our families and whanau. As a Schoolgen school we are looking forward to learning about solar energy, gaining experience and understanding data collection and making energy savings.
