Middleton Grange School - Christchurch - 2 kw

Middleton Grange School is one of three Christchurch Schools who have been chosen by Genesis Energy to join the Schoolgen Programme. They were among the first schools in the South Island to receive a 2kW photovoltaic system and they join with existing Schoolgen schools throughout the North Island. The photo-voltaic (PV) system consists of 16 'micromorph'-type solar panels which are an exciting new solar technology for the Schoolgen programme. The PV system also includes a Christchurch-made EnaSolar inverter which converts the DC electricity produced by the solar panels into AC electricity used throughout the school. The PV system is 'grid-tied' and does not need
a battery bank.
