Schoolgen is supported by the Minister for the Environment's Sustainable Management Fund, which is administered by the Ministry for the Environment.
Elemental Energy
Genesis Energy has appointed Elemental Energy to supply and install the photovolatic systems for the 50 schools chosen for Schoolgen. Elemental Energy will also be assisting Genesis Energy in the delivery of educational programmes to students during the installation phase of the PV systems.

The Enviroschools Foundation
The Enviroschools Foundation is a charitable trust that provides support and strategic direction for a nationwide environmental education programme. Enviroschools is working towards this vision through a whole school approach to environmental education. Students develop skills, understanding, knowledge and confidence through planning, designing and creating a sustainable school.

Aurecon has been appointed by Genesis Energy to project manage the design and installation of the PV systems at the participating schools.
Aurecon is committed to actively participate in Schoolgen related corporate social responsibility activities such as teacher and student workshops, staff volunteer programmes, developing and delivering educational material into school, open days and community events. Aurecon also encourages its staff to participate in such activities on a voluntary basis. As a company, Aurecon allows staff to take time off work as appropriate.
Lift Education
Lift Education provides specialist consulting services accross the education sector. Lift Education was appointed by Genesis Energy to develop the Schoolgen Teaching Activities.
NIWA
NIWA is New Zealand's National Institute of Water & Atmospheric Research. Its focus is science supporting sustainability. NIWA's scientific and technical expertise spans atmosphere, aquaculture, biodiversity, biosecurity, climate, coasts, energy, fisheries, freshwater, Maori development, natural hazards, and oceans.
NIWA is supporting the Schoolgen programme through the provision of solar radiation data from selected weather stations in the North Island, so students can understand the effects that weather has on the generation of electricity from the solar panels.
Grassroots Marketing Alliance
Grassroots Marketing Alliance is an Australian Social Marketing company offering advocacy market research and social marketing support.
Brown Paper Bag
Brown Paper Bag has been appointed to support & develop the Schoolgen Website and provide the data logging technology.
Reid Technology
Reid Technology was appointed as the installers of the PV Systems for the 2006/2007 Schoolgen programme.
Sharp Corporation of New Zealand
The Sharp Corporation of New Zealand assisted the Schoolgen programme in 2006/07 by providing technical expertise and advice. Sharp New Zealand is a wholly owned subsidiary of Sharp Corporation of Japan, the world's leading manufacturer of solar cells.
