The Hello Tomorrow Programme at Genesis Energy has three strategic themes which guide our corporate responsibility efforts to meet customer and stakeholder expectations. Within each of the three strands, Genesis Energy has a number of key programmes or partnerships with community organisations. These are:
Relining and resizing of curtains at the Huntly Curtain bank
- Addressing the impacts of climate change as it affects our customers and staff:
By reducing the carbon intensity of our business and through community programmes such as Schoolgen, Tree People, the Huntly Curtain Bank and ElectroCity.
Genesis Energy introduced hybrid vehicles into its vehicle fleet in August 2007
- Reducing our environmental footprint:
By setting greenhouse gas emission-reduction targets; introducing a waste minimisation programme at our sites and offices and hybrid cars for staff travel.
Genesis Energy proudly supports the kiwi restoration programme on Puketukutuku Peninsula at Lake Waikaremoana
- Making a difference in communities where we operate and beyond:
Through our support of the Genesis Oncology Trust, National Apprenticeship Programme and other initiatives such as the Lake Waikaremoana Hapu Restoration Trust.
